The car I originally thought I wanted didn't end up working out. BUT in the end, I got a brand new car that I am absolutely in love with! The service was excellent, I felt very taken care of, everything was done to help me get my car. I recommend this dealership to anyone looking for an all around awesome & positive experience.

I was pleasantly surprised with the outstanding experience my wife and I had at this dealership. We were greeted at the door by the salesman named Anthony. We were treated with the upmost respect throughout the whole process. Im 69 years old and have bought a lot of cars in my life but the experience I had at this dealership is beyond reproach. VW was voted the best car on earth by Top Gear BBC recently, and VW Salem is a fine representative of this reputation. The new showroom is beautiful and very very modern, their lobby is comfortable and warm, you can wait there comfortably for the services on your VW, be sure to check out the very cool latte machine! Everyone there I met was above-board and by-the-book, upheld the standards of service VW established decades ago. Your auto is in excellent hands. The part dept/gift shop is the best in Salem, very knowledgeable and helpful, and sells German-made parts when they are available (as well as parts from their European and South American partner factories) there are no shortage of parts- even for older VWs. The inventory is what you would expect from VW, true, dependable, solid.

New location is great! Car has been serviced there twice now, and all staff are super friendly and helpful. Very welcoming environment. The sales floor is brand new and nice and bright! But beware, if you want to exit back onto Cherry (Southbound), you have to zigzag your way back around to Salem Industrial, then hit the light at Cherry. Because if you leave the way you enter, youre forced to go north on Cherry.

Had my oil changed at Volkswagen of Salem last week and they did a fantastic job. Not only was it very fairly priced for a synthetic oil change, they washed and vacuumed the car for free! That was pleaseantly unexpected! I highly recommend volkswagen of salem to anyone. Their new building is very nice as well.

Went in after work just to look at a used suv. Johnny, a new salesman was helpful and enthusiastic. Took me right to the car I wanted. Test drove and loved it. He wasn't that familiar with the paperwork, so Jessie jumped in and we got it done in a reasonable amount of time. Great teamwork! They were closed by the time we finished up the paperwork. But Ryan got me an interest rate and payment I could handle. All 3 stayed until I was taken care of and they sent me away with a full tank and a fresh wash. Ryan said he'd shop around the next day for a better interest rate. I thought " as soon as I drive away, they won't look at the contract again". Much to my surprise, I got a call the next day. They'd found an interest rate that was almost 3 points lower! Thanks Omar for taking care of the resign for me so easily and calling your friend at Subaru about getting a second key made. Would definitely go there again and highly recommend them!

Good peoples down there at VwOfSalem. Traded in my F350 and they gave me what I asked for it. 10k. Got an 06 Jetta 2.5L and they didnt hit the payment I wanted (at first) but were only 25$ off. The finance guys worked for 5 days and they ended hitting my payment! Fixed a couple light issues with the car before leaving. The light issue arose again and already have an appointment to fix it, free of charge of course. Only reason its not a 5 star is strictly because the lot guys are slow as hell detailing a vehicle. Luckily my dude Curtis hooked it up and made sure I come in soon to get it washed for free. Better believe Im going to dirty it up nice and good. All in all, a great experience at a dealer and gave much respect to my wife son and I. Oh, I also had all the ducks lined up before going down there mainly by phone (pics of my truck, a pencil ready to sign when I got there etc) give Curtis a call if you need a new or used VW or any other rig for that matter.

Friday afternoon I contacted the Online Manager Jim Phipps and he worked with me over the phone for the rest of the day and Saturday morning for the best deal. When I arrived to the lot I only had to test drive the BMW and sign the papers. This was by far the most easist, stressfree car buying experience ever! I recommend this place to anyone looking to buy a car. Jim actually had another customer arrive the sametime I did and Anthony closed the deal. Great teamwork buy him and the whole staff. We are pleased.

Buying a car could not have been easier. Seriously..we were out of there in less than two hours and ended up with an absolutely beautiful car. We had a such a fantastic experience with the crew at Volkswagen of Salem and highly recommend them. Ask for the good looking Jesse (Jesse Kinney) if you are looking for a knowledgeable, personable, low-pressure buying experience. Ryan, the finance manager, shopped my loan the following day and saved me an additional two points after the fact. How awesome is that?

Top notch customer service. From Greg the service advisor to Rocky their shuttle driver, I couldnt be happier with the service we recently received by this dealership. We have a new to us 2011 VW Routan we purchased this past March, and took it on our annual Seattle to Southern California road trip vacation. We had the 40k service done before leaving so felt confident the car would be dependable. On our trip back about 4 hours away from home the battery light came on about 730 pm on a Monday. Long story short- our car had to be towed from the side of I-5 at midnight to a motel and then was towed to this dealership in the morning. Greg and his team took care of us as best he could. It turned out to be the alternator and he ordered the part to be overnighted. Rocky the shuttle driver was fun and very informative being this was our first time in Salem. He picked us up in a van large enough for my family of 6 and 2 weeks worth of luggage. He even offered to take us to a drive they to grab lunch in case the service on our car took longer than expected. Greg was kind enough to wave our warranty fee after all of the trouble and stress our family had endured. This is a great dealership with friendly service that goes above and beyond. They have a clean waiting room, clean restrooms and free yummy coffee. Look no further for your service and car buying needs.

We had a great car-buying experience at VW of Salem. I needed to buy a car, right away, as mine had been totaled and I was running up a tab on a car rental. I test-drove several makes and models in Portland, then settled on a VW Golf. After doing a lot of online comparison shopping for the best price, I saw that the Golf was on sale at the Salem dealership. There was some confusion about the internet price we were quoted, but Ryan, the sales manager, negotiated a more than fair price to maintain their goodwill. We didnt get to the dealership until almost 5pm on a Sunday, but we were not rushed. Rather, Jim Phipps, the internet manager helping us, encouraged us to take a test drive in the car we would be buying. Everyone there, from our sales person to the sales manager to the finance manager were extremely helpful, friendly and professional. Our experience turned around all my stereotypes about car dealers. The professionalism was leagues ahead of some of the other dealers we had visited (although I must say that the Portland VW dealership also treated us well - they simply couldnt match the price.) We closed the place down, at 9pm that night, after being carefully walked through every feature of our new car. I drove home happy!

We purchased our 2014 Passat TDI on May 15 and are very happy with the performance of the vehicle, Sales and Service personnel, and financing with VW.Absolutely GREAT car. We are getting 46+ MPG with only 2300 mi since buying it. We traded in a Jetta TDI which was getting >50 mpg. We LOVE the larger and better riding Passat. Sales and Service staff have been Great. Lithia took over from O'Brian this year and we are very satisfied with the Ethics and Service with them.? I would recommend them for anyone looking in the Willamette Valley, or anywhere if you're interested in a quality experience.You may contact Jorge if interested in additional comments. When we took 6 mos. travelling as far as Orlando our Jetta got excellent mileage.

I bought my car from them as it was only 1 of 2 dealers that had what I wanted - manual transmission Tiguan. The sales person was good and knowledgeable. The negotiating part was poor- we walked out and called our local VW dealership to see if they could get the car. They told us to go with VW of Salem because of the price. After getting the paperwork done it took quite a bit of time to get to the financing and get going. Our sales girl mentioned a survey that would be coming and to give her 10 out of 10 on everything cause her job depended on it. She mentioned this twice before we left and in 2 messages after the purchase - didn't care if we liked the car! Overall she was lovely, but doesn't understand how bad it looks to customers that she's afraid of customers honesty - she had nothing to worry about until she started "begging for 10's" (which is my only sort of complaint with her). They were not pushy at all, and did provide lots of information about the car which we did not get from any other dealers of cars we were considering like Subaru Forester and Mazda CX-5. Very happy with my German-built Tiguan overall.

Overall, my experience with OBrian Auto Group has been superb. During the purchase of my car, they bent over backward to make a deal work, even though my trade-in wasn't worth anything. It took them a day to do it, but in the end I left in the best car I've ever owned.My Golf TDI is amazing; 40-45 MPG constantly and 10,000 miles between oil changes. It's terribly fun to drive, especially on mountainous highways. My 2-door Golf hauls amazing amounts of cargo, turns on a dime, and is remarkably comfortable, even in the back seat! All black, with tinted windows, I never fail to get comments from the kids working drive-thru at Starbucks or McDonalds. It's just awesome!I bought this car after looking at the Dodge Challenger and Ford Mustang. Neither of those cars were built for someone who needs a "real" car as a daily driver that can haul people and things, park anywhere, and be very comfortable for 1000 mile trips.Service is unparalleled. Loaner cars are high-quality (often new), free and readily available. The waiting room is extremely comfortable and stocked with bottled water and has TV and WiFi (although IMAP email is blocked for some reason). All service appointments include a free car wash/vacuum and are usually quick and complete.I bought my car in 2011, and I am still in love with it two years and 55,000 miles later. O'Brian Auto Group has provided great service to back up an amazing car. My most recent interaction with them proved their honesty and dedication to satisfying my requests. I highly recommend them.

Had a satisfactory 2009 Jetta TDI Sportwagen DSG 40,000 mile service at Salem VW.The pricing was competitive due to a 15% coupon on their website. The service was faster than I expected it would be...3 hours. All filters/oils changed for $643 including DSG. Best quote in Portland was $757.00. Worth the drive to save the cash, especially at 40+ mpg on the highway.
