Have brought my Jetta here for service odds and ends over the years. Greg and Matt are straight shooters up front doing service writing, and in the back the technicians do exceptional work. They're a dealership and with any dealer service comes at a higher price than independent shops, no question (pretty much common knowledge these days). However, with cheaper expense comes the risk of cheap quality repairs. In addition, there's not constant pushing to upsell additional services, nor do they surprise you with hidden costs for things you didn't agree to.In fact, the amount I pay after work is done has never been higher than the quote I'm given when dropping it off. Always better to overquote and underpay than to underquote and overpay.They were able to squeeze me in for some routine maintenance on short notice, with shuttle driving to and from work, recently. Not for lack of business, given by how packed the shop is. I -could- have tried to go and get my services done cheaper elsewhere, but I would have to had a ride pick me up and shuttle me around. Not to mention, having that slight fear in the back of my mind hoping that this indie shop's techs know what they are doing and do things right.It's not like Salem has any other rival VW dealers within city limits, but "taking the car to the dealership for service" is not so much a dreaded affair at VW of Salem.
